Heat treatment:
Hardness :Annealed(+A) max: 235 BHN
DIN1.2581 tool steel when heat-treatment the preheat Temperature need reach 788°C, and the temperature may be ± 14 °C .
DIN1.2581 tool steel when austenitizing ,should keep 5-15 minutes long. If is the salt bath ,temperature should keep in the 1177 °C , and shall be ± 5.6 °C. Or is the controlled atmosphere furnaces , temperature should keep in the 1191 °C , and shall be ± 5.6 °C.
Quenching: DIN1.2581 tool steel Hardening quenching using air cooling, and it's hardness min is 52 RC.
Tempering: DIN1.2581 tool steel general tempering temperature is 552°C. Double tempering of Double tempering of H21 tool steel is recommended.
Application:
DIN1.2581 tool steel is used to produce high temperature and high stress, but not the impact load from the punch, die as with the flat forging machine punch, inserts, copper alloy extrusion die, die-casting molds, such as anti-extrusion die; it can also provide for the force at a high temperature hot metal cutters. Tungsten-containing hot do die steel, the steel will increase by 2% Mo content, due to join Mn content, improve the high temperature mechanical properties of steel, adapted to the mass production of aluminum die-casting mold needs. The strong steel with high heat resistance, high thermal stability, good wear resistance and process performance, working temperature reaches 650 ºC.
