Mechanical Properties:
UT: Material will be ultrasonically tested at appropriate stages of the
manufacture to ensure the quality, as agreed between seller and purchaser.
Heat Treatment:
Hardness :Annealed(+A) max: 229 BHN
1.2355 Tool steel when heat-treatment the preheat Temperature need reach 677°C, and the temperature may be ± 14 °C .
Austenitizing:1.2355 Tool steel should keep 5-15 minutes long. If is the salt bath ,temperature should keep in the 941°C and shall be ± 5.6 °C. Or is the controlled atmosphere furnaces, temperature should keep in the 954°C, and shall be ± 5.6 °C.
Quenching: 1.2355 Tool steel Hardening quenching using ail cooling, and it's hardness min is 56RC.
Tempering: 1.2355 Tool steel general tempering temperature is 204°C. Double tempering of Double tempering of tool steel S7 is recommended.
Application:
1.2355 tool steel has an unusual combination of properties, making it suitable for an extremely wide range of tool and die work - where shock-resistance, medium hot-work properties, or ease of machining and heat-treatment are most important.
It is recommended for both hot and cold shock applications such as rivet sets, chisels, punches, moil points, hot headers and gripper dies. 1.2355 tool steel is also suited for short-run dies used in coldforming, blanking, and bending. Other uses include: engraving dies, machined cavities for plasticmolding dies, die-casting dies, shear blades, and master hobs.
Product Description:
1.2355 tool steel is a shock-resistant air hardening tool steel, designed for high impact resistance at relatively high hardness. It offers toughness to withstand chipping and breaking, combined with high attainable hardness and good wear resistance.
